I've been autojoining the #techrights channel on IRC for ages, but last night I've decided I can no longer be there. I am not going to waste my time where trolls are welcomed and the IRC policy is a piece of creative writing. Confused? Read on.

I'm very reluctant to make this post as I usually keep any personal health issues private, however the effects will impact on people I talk to online so I thought I'd better explain.

After some "discussions" on Identi.ca and IRC this week it's led me to write this post. How do you try to live your life? Do you try to average a positive influence? This is not about assuming a Mary Poppins like view of the world, it's about something that really should be obvious; life is too short.

Earlier today I wrote a blog post about an odd thing I've experienced in Iceweasel on Debian Squeeze. I've since been accused of calling Debian "evil" or at least implying it by a known IRC troll. That was not the intent, but hey, exaggerating and misrepresenting is the trademark of a troll isn't it?

For a long time now I've autojoined servers and channels on XChat, recently I added one and today I finally snapped and removed one. The channel for the Techrights.org website (formerly known as Boycott Novell) becomes a joke at times, and today I finally had enough. They have 2 channels; the old one #boycottnovell and the new one #techrights. Apparently the old one is a kinda off topic area and not a lot of people join the new one as of yet. Until about 5 minutes ago I autojoined #boycottnovell.
