There's a constant battle between religious institutions and those who live in the current century over which laws should govern us all. The one I'm looking at today is the UK's Equality Bill, which will prevent religious institutions from discriminating against people which their dogma allows or encourages. They are outraged that they would no longer be able to condemn people and want to be exempted. I have another solution, which they may not like.
Let's allow them to discriminate against anyone who isn't male, heterosexual and obedient, on condition that another set of rules kick in too. They feel that being allowed to discriminate is perfectly fine, so lets add some additional discrimination into the deal.
No Catholics who are members of churches with the Equality exemption are allowed to:
While I believe in equality, those who continue to seek to subvert it to their own aims are nothing more than discredited grit in the machine. Government is a system for all, not just those with an agenda. The idea is that we gradually improve the human race, which includes moving past dogma created by people who thought the world was flat. Those who continue to hold that goal back by insisting on the past should be exempt from taking part. They should be allowed to watch helplessly from the sidelines as the modern world flows passed them.
Well? You wanted the right to discriminate right? You wanted to be exempt from modern values of equality as it applied to your deep held beliefs that discrimination and condemnation is the right Godly thing to do, to your fellow man and woman.
The same rules would apply to all faiths, not just the Catholics, after all, we wouldn't like to discriminate now would we? That just wouldn't be proper. I found this quote years ago but can't remember where or who it was by, if someone knows, please let me know and I'll give proper attribution.
"God does not discriminate, only religious do that"
We already have enough of a problem to sort out with governments being in the pockets of big business, the last thing we need as a distraction are people who haven't noticed the modern world appear around them. It just slows us down as a species.
